DAY SIXTY — LIVING IN THE WORLD WITH SEEING

The sixtieth morning.

The young man stood at the path leading down the mountain.
The dirt road stretched before him—
not telling where it would lead,
not telling what he would meet.

But for the first time in his life,
he didn’t need to know.

He carried no past.
No fear of the future.
No image of himself.
No words of the teacher.
No self.

Only the seeing shining within him.

The teacher stood behind him.
He said nothing.
He didn’t need to.

The young man bowed—
not to say goodbye,
but in gratitude.

Then he walked down the mountain.
He did not look back.

He didn’t need to.

Because the hermitage was already walking with him.

1. Living in the world as if living in the hermitage

He stepped into life,
yet his mind remained as still as a forest morning.

The outer world changed,
but the inner space stayed wide as the sky.

2. Not seeking silence — carrying silence

Silence was not in the mountains.
Silence was in the seeing.

Wherever there is seeing,
there is silence.

3. Not seeking safety — carrying clarity

He no longer sought shelter.
No longer sought a guide.
No longer sought answers.

He carried clarity—
and clarity was the only refuge he needed.

4. Not seeking truth — living truth

Truth is not something to search for.
Truth is something to live.

Live in each step.
Live in each breath.
Live in each relationship.
Live in each action.

5. Final practice: live like the sky

He walked down the mountain
the way the sky moves through clouds:

· not holding
· not resisting
· not clinging
· not fearing
· without a center

Only openness.
Only brightness.
Only freedom.
