Stop Station 10 — Listening & Presence

Where the returning person is both heard and brought back to the present moment — to see where they truly are within themselves

1. Someone returns

A young man walks in.

Around 22–28. Eyes slightly unfocused — like someone standing among many things without knowing where he stands inside himself. Short breath. Slow but uncertain steps — as if his mind is elsewhere.

He looks around, searching for a place that can hear him without asking him to be strong.

In that moment, the stop station of Listening & Presenceappears.

Not because he chose it. Not because I chose it. But because his drifting state called it into being.

The space quiets. The light clears. A still moment appears — like a place to return to himself.

2. Sharing, listening

Inner Watcher: What are you carrying inside?

Man: I… don’t know. I feel like I’m not here. I’m thinking about too many things at once. I don’t know where I am inside myself.

Inner Watcher: You can say anything. Or nothing. I’m here to listen — right now.

He exhales — his first fully present breath.

3. Emptiness illuminates — Nonaction moves

Inner Watcher: I sense three movements in you: the mind leaving the moment — emotion unheard — presence divided. Not a problem. Just a mind that hasn’t returned yet.

Man: I feel like I’m always being pulled. By worry. By expectations. By things that haven’t happened. I don’t remember the last time I was truly in a moment.

Inner Watcher: Listening is not analyzing. Not finding causes.Listening is simply giving what you carry a place to be heard — now.

Presence is not focusing. Not forcing the mind to stay.Presence is simply recognizing that you are here — in this moment.

Try saying one thing standing closest in your heart right now. It doesn’t need to be clear. It doesn’t need to be right.Just true.

Man: I think… I’m afraid I’m not enough. And I run away from the moment to avoid that feeling.

Inner Watcher: When what you carry is heard, the mind lightens. When you recognize you are here, the mind returns.

He exhales — the breath of someone finally present.

4. Listening & Presence is a stop station — not a technique

Inner Watcher: You just entered a moment of Listening & Presence. Not because you focused. Not because you understood everything. But because you let what you carry be heard — and let yourself be here.

Man: I feel… more here. Not completely. But more.

Inner Watcher: A little being heard is a little returning. A little presence is a little peace.

5. He steps back into himself

He stands. His eyes rest in the present moment. His breath steadies. His steps carry the rhythm of someone returning to himself.

Not because he “awakened.” But because he was heard — and he was present.

And sometimes, being present just a little — the mind finds its way home.

Closing— Listening & Presence

Listening & Presence is when what we carry is heard, and we truly stand in the moment that is happening. Just letting the story be heard and recognizing “I am here” — and that presence itself is already a step home. Listening & Presence keeps us from running away from emotion, from drifting out of the moment, from losing ourselves in the flow of life. And sometimes, being heard and present just a little — peace returns a little.
