Amid years of running and fear, he sat down. No effort. No resistance. No attempt to overcome.
He simply breathed.
“Breathing in, I return to myself.” “Breathing out, I smile to myself.”
A very small breath, yet fully present. Not philosophy. Not technique. Not enlightenment.
Just a breath recognized.
In that moment, the mind returned to the body. Noise receded. Fear softened. Running stopped.
The way in opened — light as a smile, like a leaf falling at the right moment, like a foot touching the earth after many days of walking without knowing.
Not through effort. But through presence.
